Relevant Functional Errata

Since Edison Format, some cards have received functional errata which fundamentally change the way they work. These are known as functional errata. Konami policy regarding cards with erratas (section IX. subsection G. of the policy document) state that "you are required to play all copies of your cards according to the most recent text". Therefore, the consequences of the language in these errata are essential to Edison Format play.

Armory Arm

[Ignition] Once per turn, you can equip this card to a monster OR unequip it to Special Summon this card in face-up Attack Position. [Continuous] While equipped to a monster by this effect, that monster gains 1000 ATK. [Trigger] When the equipped monster destroys a monster by battle and sends it to the Graveyard, inflict damage to your opponent equal to the destroyed monster’s ATK.

The "Colossal Fighter" + "Armory Arm" OTK works.
[Trigger] inflicts damage even if the destroyed monster leaves the Graveyard.

Black Garden

[Trigger] When a monster is Normal or Special Summoned, except by the effect of "Black Garden", halve its ATK and Special Summon 1 "Rose Token" (Plant-Type/DARK/Level 2/ATK 800/DEF 800) to its controller's opponent's side of the field, in Attack Position. [Ignition] You can destroy this card and all face-up Plant-Type monsters on the field and Special Summon 1 monster with ATK equal to the total ATK of those monsters from your Graveyard.

[Trigger] activates if a monster(s) is Special Summoned face-down.

Brain Control

Pay 800 LifePoints. Select 1 face-up monster your opponent controls. Take control of it until the End Phase.

The restrictions found on modern prints do not apply.
If the target is flipped face-down before this card resolves, control of it is not changed.
If the target is flipped face-down later in the turn, control is still restored to its original owner during the End Phase.

Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier

[Ignition] You can discard any number of cards to the Graveyard to return the same number of cards from the field to the hand.

Discard a card(s) to the Graveyard for cost.
[Ignition] targets on either side of the field.
[Ignition] has no "once per turn" restriction.

Catapult Turtle

[Ignition] You can Tribute 1 monster to inflict damage to your opponent equal to half of its ATK.

[Ignition] has no "once per turn" restriction.

Cyber Phoenix

[Continuous] While this card is in face-up Attack Position, negate the effects of any Spell or Trap Card that targets 1 Machine-Type monster you control. [Trigger] When this face-up card attacks or is attacked, and it is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, you can draw 1 card.

This card must be face-up before being selected as an attack target for [Trigger] to meet its activation condition.
[Trigger] cannot activate if this face-down card is attacked, destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard [REF].

D.D. Survivor

[Trigger] When this card is removed from play while face-up on your side of the field, you Special Summon it during the End Phase.

This card must be face-up before being selected as an attack target for [Trigger] to meet its activation condition.
[Trigger] cannot activate if this face-down card is attacked, destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard [REF].

Dark End Dragon

[Ignition] Once per turn, you can have this card lose 500 ATK and DEF, and send 1 monster your opponent controls to the Graveyard.

Prior to Problem-Solving Card Text, the "and" conjunction in [Ignition] functions as an "and if you do" conjunction.
If the target leaves the field before this effect resolves, this card still loses 500 ATK and DEF.

Darkness Approaches

Discard 2 cards from your hand. Select 1 face-up monster and flip it face-down, but do not change its battle position.

This can change a monster to face-down Attack Position.
Face-down Attack Position cannot declare Attacks.
Face-down Attack Position can be Flip Summoned to face-up Attack Position.

Destiny End Dragoon

[Condition] A Fusion Summon of this monster can only be conducted with the above Fusion Material Monsters. [Ignition] Once per turn, you can destroy 1 monster your opponent controls and inflict damage to your opponent equal to its ATK. If you activate this effect you cannot conduct your Battle Phase this turn. [Trigger] During your Standby Phase, if this card is in your Graveyard you can remove from play 1 "Destiny Hero" card from your Graveyard to Special Summon this card.

[Trigger] can be activated more than once per turn.

Elemental Hero Prisma

[Ignition] Once per turn, you can reveal 1 Fusion Monster from your Fusion Deck and send 1 of the Fusion Material Monsters listed on that card from your Deck to the Graveyard. Until the End Phase, this card’s name is treated as the sent monster’s name.

When [Ignition] resolves: reveal a Fusion Monster & send a listed Fusion Material to the Graveyard. This is not a cost.
If Prisma is not face-up, do not send a card to the Graveyard.

Fortune Lady Light

[Continuous] This card's ATK and DEF are equal to its Level x 200. [Trigger] During each of your Standby Phases, increase the Level of this card by 1 (max 12). [Trigger] When this card is removed from the field by a card effect, you can Special Summon 1 "Fortune Lady" monster from your Deck.

The 2nd [Trigger] can be activated when this card leaves the field while face-down (reveal this card to your opponent).

Future Fusion

[Effect] Send, from your Deck to the Graveyard, Fusion Material Monsters that are listed on a Fusion Monster Card, and select that 1 Fusion Monster from your Fusion Deck. [Lingering] Special Summon a Fusion Monster from your Fusion Deck with the same name as the selected Fusion Monster during your 2nd Standby Phase after this card's activation. (This Special Summon is treated as a Fusion Summon.) [Continuous] When this card is removed from the field, destroy that monster. [Continuous] When the monster is destroyed, destroy this card.

When this card resolves: send Fusion Material for [Effect].
If you can't Special Summon, you can't activate this card.

Goyo Guardian

1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters.
[Trigger] When this card destroys an opponent’s monster by battle and sends it to the Graveyard, you can Special Summon that monster to your side of the field in face-up Defense Position.

Non-EARTH Tuner Monsters can be used as material.

Jade Knight

[Continuous] While this card is in Attack Position, face-up Machine-Type monsters you control with 1200 or less ATK cannot be destroyed by the effects of Trap Cards. [Trigger] When this face-up card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, you can add 1 Level 4 LIGHT Machine-Type monster from your Deck to your hand.

This card must be face-up before being selected as an attack target for [Trigger] to meet its activation condition.
[Trigger] cannot activate if this face-down card is attacked, destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard [REF].

Light and Darkness Dragon

[Condition] This card cannot be Special Summoned. [Continuous] While this card is face-up on the field its Attribute is also treated as DARK. [Quick] When a Spell or Trap Card is activated, or the effect of an Effect Monster is activated, that activation is negated and this card loses 500 ATK and DEF. [Trigger] When this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, select 1 monster in your Graveyard. Then destroy all cards you control, and Special Summon that monster.

[Trigger] resolves sequentially: destroy all cards you control (if any), also, after that, Special Summon the target.

Light End Dragon

[Trigger] When this monster battles, you can activate this card's effect at attack declaration. If you do, this card loses 500 ATK and DEF (permanently), and the monster it is battling loses 1500 ATK and DEF until the End Phase.

Prior to Problem-Solving Card Text, the "and" conjunction in [Trigger] functions as an "and if you do" conjunction.
If the opponent's monster leaves the field before this effect resolves, this card still loses 500 ATK and DEF.

Lumina, Lightsworn Summoner (and all Lightsworns)

[Ignition] Once per turn, you can discard 1 card to Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower "Lightsworn" monster from your Graveyard. [Trigger] During each of your End Phases, send the top 3 cards of your Deck to the Graveyard.

The Phase-Dependent Mandatory [Trigger] activates again (if its activation is negated by "Light and Darkness Dragon") until it is able to resolve (even if negated by "Skill Drain").
This applies to "Judgment Dragon" and all Lightsworns.

Machina Gearframe

[Trigger] When this card is Normal Summoned, you can add 1 "Machina" monster, except "Machina Gearframe", from your Deck to your hand. [Ignition] Once per turn, during your Main Phase, you can equip this card to a Machine-Type monster you control as an Equip Card, OR unequip it to Special Summon this card in face-up Attack Position. ([Condition] A monster can only be equipped with 1 Union Monster at a time. [Continuous] If the equipped monster would be destroyed, destroy this card instead.)

[Condition] appears on all Union Monsters in Edison Format.

Mark of the Rose

Remove from play 1 Plant-Type monster from your Graveyard and equip this card to a monster your opponent controls. [Continuous] Gain control of the equipped monster. [Trigger] During your End Phase, give control of the equipped monster to your opponent. [Trigger] During your Standby Phase, gain control of the equipped monster.

There are 2 [Trigger] effects, both start a Chain.
If your opponent plays "Cold Wave" on their turn, during your Standby Phase the 2nd [Trigger] won't activate.

Mausoleum of the Emperor

[Ignition] Both players can Normal Summon or Set monsters without Tributing, by paying 1000 Life Points x the number of monsters needed for the Tribute Summon.

[Ignition] uses your Normal Summon / Set for the turn. This is not an extra Normal Summon / Set.
Paying 1000 or 2000 Life Points is a cost.
The Normal Summon occurs when [Ignition] resolves, it does not occur "immediately after this effect resolves."
"Solemn Judgment" cannot negate this Normal Summon.
"Torrential Tribute" can respond after [Ignition] resolves.

My Body as a Shield

Activate only by paying 1500 Life Points when your opponent activates a card with an effect that would destroy 1 or more monster(s) on the field. Negate the activation of that card and destroy it.

Can chain to a card / effect (ex: face-up "Royal Oppression").
Cannot be activated in the Damage Step.

Necrovalley

[Continuous] Negate the effects of Spells, Traps, and Effect Monsters that target a card(s) in either player’s Graveyard. [Continuous] Cards in either player’s Graveyard cannot be removed from play. [Continuous] All “Gravekeeper’s” monsters gain 500 ATK and DEF.

The 1st [Continuous] effect only negates effects that target.
Effects that don't target are not negated (ex: "Rekindling", "Treeborn Frog", "Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon").
Types / Attributes of Monsters in the Graveyards may be changed so long as the effect does not target.

Quickdraw Synchron

[Ignition] You can send 1 monster from your hand to the Graveyard and Special Summon this card from your hand. [Condition] You can substitute this card for any 1 "Synchron" Tuner monster for a Synchro Summon. [Condition] This card cannot be used as a Synchro Material Monster, except for the Synchro Summon of a monster that lists a "Synchron" monster as a Tuner monster.

[Ignition] performs a Special Summon.
Send (not discard) the card to the Graveyard when the effect resolves, this is not a cost.

Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon

[Summon] You can remove from play 1 face-up Dragon-Type monster you control to Special Summon this card. [Ignition] Once per turn, during your Main Phase, you can Special Summon 1 Dragon-Type monster, except “Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon” from your hand or Graveyard.

[Summon] has no "once per name" restriction.
[Ignition] has no "once per name" restriction.
[Ignition] does not target a card in the Graveyard.

Rescue Cat

[Ignition] You can send this face-up card to the Graveyard to Special Summon 2 Level 3 or lower Beast-Type monsters from your Deck. Those monsters are destroyed during the End Phase.

[Ignition] doesn't negate the effects of Summoned monsters.
[Ignition] has no "once per name" restriction.

Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter

FLIP: You can destroy 1 card on the field. Send the top 3 cards of your Deck to the Graveyard.

[Flip] targets 1 card on the field (OPTIONAL).
- If no target is chosen, [Flip] will only mills 3 cards.
[Flip] resolves sequentially:
- first, destroy the target (optional);
- then, you mill the top 3 cards of your Deck (mandatory).

Sangan

[Trigger] When this card is sent from the field to the Graveyard, add 1 monster with 1500 or less ATK from your Deck to your hand.

You can activate the effects of monster you searched.

Soul Exchange

Select 1 monster your opponent controls. This turn you can Tribute that monster as if you controlled it. You cannot conduct your Battle Phase the turn you activate this card.

Tributing the opponent's monster is optional.
You are not forced (by this effect) to tribute that opponent's monster at the earliest possible opportunity.

Strike Ninja

[Quick] You can remove this card from play until the End Phase of this turn by removing from play 2 DARK monsters in your Graveyard. You can use this effect during either player's turn. [Condition] You can only use this effect once per turn.

Multiple "Strike Ninja" can use this effects in the same turn.

Susa Soldier (and all Spirit Monsters)

[Condition] This card cannot be Special Summoned. [Trigger] This card returns to the owner's hand during the End Phase of the turn that this card is Normal Summoned or flipped face-up. [Continuous] The Battle Damage this card inflicts to your opponent's Life Points is halved.

The Phase-Dependent Mandatory [Trigger] activates again (if its activation is negated by "Light and Darkness Dragon") until it is able to resolve (even if negated by "Skill Drain").
This applies to all Spirit Monsters in Edison Format.

Swap Frog

[Summon] You can discard 1 WATER monster to Special Summon this card from your hand. [Trigger] When this card is Summoned, you can select and send 1 Level 2 or lower Aqua-Type WATER monster from your Deck or your side of the field to the Graveyard. [Ignition] Once per turn, you can return 1 monster you control to your hand to Normal Summon 1 "Frog" monster, except "Swap Frog" or "Frog the Jam", in addition to your Normal Summon or Set this turn.

[Ignition] can be used once by each "Swap Frog".
You can only gain 1 additional Normal Summon in a turn, even if you resolve [Ignition] several times.

Treeborn Frog

[Trigger] If this card is in your Graveyard during your Standby Phase and you control no Spell or Trap Cards, you can Special Summon it. [Condition] This effect cannot be activated if you control a face-up "Treeborn Frog".

[Trigger] has no "once per turn" restriction.
[Trigger] cannot activate if a monster is in your Spell / Trap Card Zone being treated as a Spell.

Ultimate Offering

[Quick] You can pay 500 Life Points to Normal Summon or Set 1 extra monster. You can only activate this effect during your Main Phase or your opponent's Battle Phase.

The Summon / Set occurs when [Quick] resolves, it does not occur "immediately after this effect resolves."
"Solemn Judgment" cannot negate this Summon.
"Torrential Tribute" can respond if [Quick] was Chain Link 1.

Urgent Tuning

Activate only during the Battle Phase. Synchro Summon 1 Synchro Monster. (Send the appropriate Synchro Material Monsters to the Graveyard.)

The Synchro Summon occurs when this effect resolves, it does not occur "immediately after this effect resolves."
"Solemn Judgment" can negate this card's activation.
"Solemn Judgment" cannot negate the Synchro Summon performed when this effect resolves.
