“When this card destroys a monster by battle [and sends it to the Graveyard]” effects activate during the End of the Damage Step, but some work differently than others!
With so many monsters capable of Special Summoning themselves it becomes important to distinguish between the type of Special Summon being conducted.
- A Summon effect, also called a Built-in Special Summon, DOES NOT START A CHAIN, and may include costs such as discarding a card. These come in the form of Summon Conditions (ex: "Quickdraw Synchron") and Summon Effects (ex: "Cyber Dragon").
- A Special Summon with a monster effect (ex: "Dark Simorgh", "Level Eater") DOES START A CHAIN.
